The last project visit by the Elmen EEIG monitoring office took place last Tuesday. In addition to the project team and the office's monitor, representatives from CINEA (European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Agency), UNB (Lower Nature Conservation Authority), the District Government (Higher Nature Conservation Authority), MUNV NRW (Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia) and ZUG (Future, Environment, Society - Federal Society and specialised project sponsor for all topics related to the protection of the environment, nature and climate) were also present.

At the Monschau-Höfen National Park Gate, the project team presented the progress of the many different measures that have been carried out in and around the Natura 2000 site ‘Upper Rur valley’ since 2017. Successes, difficulties and problem solutions were discussed. In the afternoon, a selection of project areas were visited and methods and objectives were explained on site. Participants were: Björn Scholz-Starke, Bernhard Theißen, Mechthild Schuppener, Ina Holz, Jonas Theegarten, Marco Schlaeger, Gerd Brietzke, Jan Bollig, Lia Uhde, Ruth Brauner, Felix Bergmann and Manuel Montero-Ramirez.
