The ‘Monschau rupft’ campaign took place again this year. In beautiful summer weather, 18 volunteers gathered to take part in the approximately three-hour campaign on Saturday morning.

With so many people, progress is quick and a large area can be covered. In the approximately 2.5-hectare headwaters of the Eschbach river at Menzerather Weiher, 75 bags, each containing 100-120 litres of Himalaya Balsam, were filled and taken away for disposal. This creates space for native flora.

This participatory campaign has now taken place for the fifth time, is also being carried out in the municipality of Roetgen and has established itself as a fixed date. For 2026, you can already look forward to the next dates in mid to late July!
