Welcome

to the homepage of the EU funded LIFE Project

In the Natura 2000 site "Oberlauf der Rur" numerous nature conservation measures will be carried out in the period 2017-2022 within 6 years. Flagship species of the project is the violet copper (Lycaena helle). This butterfly is extremely rare in Europe and in Germany it is only found in a few regions. By preserving existing habitats and creating new ones, such as wet meadows and alluvial forests, not only the natural Eifel landscape is promoted, but also its valuable biodiversity.
